New Format for Newsletters
OUR OLD NEWSLETTER FORMAT RETURNS!
After two years of experimenting with online all-school news, we have decided to return to our regular printed newsletters. What we have learned from having an online-only newsletter is that we have lost one of most valuable means of communicating with our families. While the online version is “greener,” all of the feedback we have received is that very few of our parents click on the links to read more than the first paragraph. Our contributors work very hard to write meaningful essays about early childhood education, inclusion, parent education topics, and updates on Cherry finances, fundraising, and Board activities.
Many of you have commented that you miss having the newsletter around to read at your leisure. You also miss knowing about all of the babies being born and new families that have joined our community. We miss thanking those who have done those random acts of kindness or sharing a cute anecdote. Our online news may be slick but it has lost some of its Cherry personality!
To address the concerns about wasting paper and money having the newsletter printed, we have decided to do it “in-house” and make it shorter (except for this issue in which we had to “catch up” on a lot of missed news). The calendar will still be on the website. Also, keep in mind that this newsletter will only come out 5 times/year. We will continue using Constant Contact to email the weekly classroom news. For those who prefer reading the newsletter online, it will still be there on our website as a PDF.
